About the Artist
10,000 hours. Apparently, that’s how long it takes to become a master at any one thing. Whether or not that’s true, what I know is that after 10,000 hours of digging into the creative process, I know it deeply. It’s in my blood. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
We all seem to wind our way through life. My winding took me through the doors of the Art Academy of Cincinnati, into years in the studio with paint up to my elbows, alongside creative direction and team leadership at Anthropologie stores, and then into the wide world of Magnolia as the Visual Director for store displays and merchandizing in Waco, Texas.
Most recently, I’ve moved into creative consulting and brand collaborations, while continuing to make space to do what I adore: using my paintbrush. And helping others pick up their own paintbrushes (or carving knives, cake spatulas, cameras, pens, hammers) and dive into the creative process, too.
